Role Summary Brand Strategist

A cutting edge start-up creative design firm on a mission to reimagine the way African stories are told and experienced, is actively seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate Brand Strategist to become a part of our creative family.

As a brand strategist, you hold a pivotal position in shaping the trajectory of our clients' brands, guiding them towards success in a dynamic and competitive marketplace. Your primary responsibility will be to craft holistic brand strategies that not only align with our clients' business objectives but also resonate deeply with their target audiences.

In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to our clients, providing invaluable guidance and expertise to steer their brands towards success. Through collaborative workshops and strategy sessions, you will foster alignment and consensus among stakeholders, ensuring that brand strategies are grounded in shared goals and values.

The landscape of brand communication is constantly evolving, and as a brand strategist, you will be at the forefront of identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends and opportunities. Through continuous research and analysis, you will stay abreast of industry developments and consumer insights, allowing you to anticipate shifts in the market and proactively adapt brand strategies accordingly.

Your role as a brand strategist extends beyond the development of strategies; it also encompasses the measurement of their effectiveness and impact. Through the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, you will monitor the performance of brand strategies and campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and enhancement.

This Brand Strategist role is an integral part of the agency, and will report to the Creative Director. Please note, we have an International client and team mix, which can often mean some projects might run into different working hours – if this is the case, we’re always happy for you to schedule your working day with the approval of your supervisor to make sense to the hours you need to work.


Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of comprehensive brand strategies that align with clients' business objectives and differentiate them in the marketplace.

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to inform brand strategy development.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive brand guidelines and toolkits that provide clear direction on brand identity elements, voice and tone, and visual assets.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to facilitate workshops and strategy sessions aimed at defining brand positioning, values, and messaging that resonate with target audiences and align with business goals.

• Develop detailed brand architecture frameworks, including brand hierarchies, portfolio strategies, and naming conventions, to optimize brand portfolios and maximize brand equity.

• Provide strategic guidance and support to cross-functional teams throughout the execution of brand strategies and campaigns, ensuring alignment and consistency across all touch-points.

• Monitor and evaluate brand performance metrics and KPIs to track the effectiveness of brand strategies and identify areas for optimization and growth.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define brand activation strategies and oversee their implementation across various channels and platforms.

• Effectively manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the successful execution of brand strategy initiatives.

• Lead brand workshops and strategy sessions with stakeholders to facilitate ideation, alignment, and decision-making around brand development and activation.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in brand strategy, marketing, and communications, and proactively share insights and recommendations with internal teams and clients.


Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in brand strategy development methodologies and frameworks.

• Strong analytical skills and experience in market research and data analysis.

• Expertise in brand management tools and software.

• Knowledge of brand management principles, including brand positioning, identity, architecture, and activation.

• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms and technologies.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Office Suite and Google Suite.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is a plus.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Soft Skills:
