Employment is a Trade of Value for Wage

What to know about the Industry

Every Industry or company has numerous divisions of roles shared to its different departments. A company might has the Finance Department, the Managerial Department, the Human Resources Department, Research Department, the Customer Servicing Department and others. Each of these Departments either works dependent of the other so workers in one field can also work in the other fields whereas some fields are independent of the others making working in two or more departments impossible. You get to belong to any of the fields by what you can offer; your value.

When Skills override Degress

You might have seen a person who studied psychology or theatre arts employed in the Managerial Department whiles a person who studied Economics or Finance working at the customer servicing Department. What might be the cause of this?

When you are a student, you are advised to take internships and volunteer roles in order to gain skills and experiences needed in the job market. National Service Scheme makes it mandatory for every graduate to be posted automatically to any company without considering the course you studied. Why? Because, it is assumed that what is needed to run an organization is not learnt in the classroom but rather on the job field.

You're to develop skills and experiences to make you valuable for employment during these trainings. Though your University Certificate is necessary but it doesn't define whom you are and what you can do; the trainings you go through determines that.

That is why you'll see people with degrees working at various departments which has no use of the education they received in the classroom.

When Degrees override Skills

Aside that a company will employ you base on your experiences, it also considers how smart you are. Your smartness is seen from your class of graduation and how you present yourself during interview. These made it possible for most people working under roles that employ the education and knowledge they had in classroom together with the training they pass through during their orientation.

The Choice is Yours

You as an individual determines which sector of the company you should work for with either your skills or degree and or both. Getting to know where you will like to belong will usher your steps and what kind of roles you'll apply for.

Seeing workers doing something different from what they graduated of at University shouldn't alarm you anymore, people are employed on what they can offer.
